Beyblade is having a major resurgence in Canada, with packed local tournaments making national headlines. If your kid (or you) wants to 'let it rip,' here's a plain-English guide to Beyblade X and how to get started.
What is Beyblade X?
Beyblade X is the newest generation of the spinning-top battle game. Its signature feature is the 'Xtreme Gear' rail system built into the stadium, which launches tops around a track for faster, harder-hitting battles than earlier generations. It's the version driving the current craze.
What you need to start
To play, you need at least two battle tops, a launcher for each, and a stadium (arena) to battle in. The easiest way in is a starter pack, which usually bundles a top and launcher; add a stadium to battle at home. We stock starter packs, stadiums, launchers and individual tops so you can build the set that suits you.
How a battle works
Players load their tops onto launchers, then launch simultaneously into the stadium. You score points by knocking out your opponent, spinning them to a stop, or bursting their top apart. Matches are quick, which is part of the fun — and why kids love collecting different tops with different attack styles.
