The Learning Journey Magnetic Linking Letters set of 40 — lowercase colorful jar

The Learning Journey Magnetic Linking Letters are a jar of 40 colorful, linked lowercase alphabet magnets designed to help young children explore letter shapes, build words and practice early spelling on magnetic surfaces.

This compact set includes forty lowercase magnetic tiles—several letters repeated for practical word building—stored in a clear jar for tidy storage. The pieces snap side-by-side so toddlers and preschoolers can physically connect letters as they form simple words, supporting hands-on discovery and playful literacy practice at home, in daycare, or in classroom centers.

How do these magnets support beginning reading and spelling?

The tiles provide concrete, manipulable letter forms that help children link sounds to symbols. By handling and arranging the magnets, kids practice phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and basic spelling without needing paper or pencils.

• 40 lowercase letters with repeats for common letters like a, e and t
• Interlocking magnet edges guide correct left-to-right sequencing
• Tactile play reinforces letter shapes and sound associations
• Use on fridges, magnetic boards, or learning trays for repeated practice

What learning skills can parents and teachers expect these letters to develop?

Beyond alphabet familiarity, the magnetic tiles encourage fine motor control, hand-eye coordination and early vocabulary growth. Children who experiment with building words also strengthen problem-solving, sequencing and emergent grammar skills in a low-pressure setting.

• Fine motor practice from linking and separating tiles
• Phonemic awareness through sound-letter matching and blending
• Vocabulary expansion by labeling objects and creating words
• Visual perception and letter-shape discrimination work during play

How can caregivers and teachers use the set for quick learning activities?

The jar format makes it easy to pull out a handful of letters for short, focused activities. Use the tiles for morning centers, spelling challenges, scavenger hunts or guided instruction—each activity encourages repetition and discovery without worksheets.

• Spelling practice: prompt children to build names, simple nouns, or rhyming words
• Matching games: pair tiles with pictures or objects around the room
• Phonics drills: isolate letters for sound recognition and blending
• Story starters: arrange a word or two and invite children to invent a sentence

Are the materials safe and durable for preschool use?

The Learning Journey designs these magnets for early learners, following toy-safety standards and typical classroom wear. The pieces are sized to be handled easily by small hands and are stored in a resealable jar to reduce loss and clutter.

• Safety-tested to meet domestic and international toy regulations
• Durable magnetic backing that adheres to common surfaces
• Compact jar keeps pieces contained when not in use
• Lowercase focus supports natural reading progression for beginners
