MindWare Make Your Own Birdhouse Kit – Pre-Cut Wood Pieces & Paint for Kids (Ages 5+)

Hands-on creativity with a sturdy, kid-friendly birdhouse

MindWare Make Your Own Birdhouse Kit blends simple woodworking with painting fun. The all-in-one kit arrives with everything needed to build, decorate, and hang a bird-friendly home, using safe materials and child-friendly instructions. No extra tools are required to get started.

What’s inside and how it works

• 9 solid-wood pre-cut pieces that assemble into a sturdy birdhouse
• 13 paints in a range of bright colors
• craft glue and three painting tools: flat-edge brush, tapered brush, and sponge brush
• jute twine for hanging your finished project outdoors
• instruction booklet and a bird guide to spark curiosity

The kit is designed to be all-inclusive, so kids can start by stacking pieces, then adding color and texture to create a personal design. The finished piece measures about 7 by 7.25 by 5.5 inches, a size that's easy to display on a porch, fence, or tree branch.

What kids can learn and enjoy

• Paint mixing and brush techniques to achieve bold or soft effects
• Birdhouse basics—how the pieces come together to form a durable home
• Bird watching awareness: a friendly introduction to the birds that may visit

As children explore color and design, they gain a sense of accomplishment from completing a tangible project. The included painting guide offers tips that help kids experiment with contrast, shading, and personal motifs, all while staying within a creative and safe craft space.

Real-world moments and practical use

After decorating, you can place the birdhouse outdoors for observation and seasonal visitors. The materials are chosen for durability and safe handling, and the compact finished size makes it a charming addition to a backyard or classroom display.

Why families and classrooms love it

This kit supports exploration, fine motor skills, and imaginative play without needing extra tools. It also doubles as a thoughtful gift or group activity, inviting kids to share ideas, collaborate on color schemes, and proudly show off their handiwork.
