KiwiCo Jumping Robot STEM Kit – Robotics Building Set for Kids 9+

Real-world science meets hands-on fun

Spark curiosity with a jumping robot you build yourself. The KiwiCo Jumping Robot introduces young learners to the basics of potential and kinetic energy as the robot hops across the desk, turning abstract ideas into tangible, kid-friendly experiences. This kit is designed for kids aged 9 and up, with room for collaboration and guided exploration from family or teachers.

Build it yourself, grow as you go

The project walks kids through assembling the cams and the spring-powered launcher, then offers a choice between a premade exterior or a custom body. A simple on/off switch makes the robot spring into action, helping kids connect design choices with movement in real time.

• Hands-on construction of cams and a spring launcher to illustrate energy transfer
• Ability to modify the build to observe how changes affect jump height and distance

Creativity meets experimentation

Beyond the mechanics, personalize the robot with blank body parts and art supplies from home. This setup invites design thinking, self-expression, and a playful look at how different builds influence jumping behavior, all while staying within safe, kid-friendly boundaries.

• Blank bodies and home art supplies for customization and creative storytelling
• Accessible science concepts presented in clear, kid-friendly language
