KiwiCo Astronaut Starter Kit — Space & Science Learning Toy for Kids 5+

Explore real-world space science at home

Ignite curiosity with KiwiCo's Astronaut Starter Kit, a hands-on project set designed for kids 5 and up. Build and launch model spacecraft, and assemble a miniature solar system that truly spins to demonstrate orbits and gravity in action.

In this kit, children paint and assemble planets, then watch them orbit as a solar system spins on the included poster pad. The pump-powered launchers on the spaceships offer a satisfying, tactile experience that connects cause and effect as ideas become visible results.

The kit features vividly colored planet pieces, a glossy solar system poster, and sturdy, kid-friendly tools that feel satisfying to handle. The ships use simple pumps that let little hands observe how action leads to movement.

As children build, they glimpse milestones in space history, from early rocketry to modern space stations. A kid-friendly astronaut guide explains daily routines and the challenges of space travel, opening doors to further exploration at home or in the classroom.

Creative activities like painting planets help develop fine motor skills, color recognition, and sequencing as kids arrange planets in their chosen order. The project also encourages planning and patience as models take shape and spins begin to turn.

Beyond the hands-on build, the kit explores the history of space exploration and the daily life of astronauts on the International Space Station. It also introduces the training steps aspiring space travelers might consider and offers additional resources to learn more.

KiwiCo has been trusted by families for over a decade, delivering engaging, kid-tested learning experiences. The kit supports curious minds, encouraging problem solving, fine motor skills, and creative thinking, all within a space-themed adventure that feels truly out of this world.
