Cult Following: The One True Game by Bravely Told Games – Irreverent Storytelling Card Game

Cult Following: The One True Game from Bravely Told Games invites you into a playful, irreverent world where storytelling takes the stage. Instead of chasing a traditional win, you curate ridiculous cults using a deck and your own imagination, then pitch wildly to friends. The tone is cheeky, surprising, and endlessly remixable, making each game night feel fresh and sardonically fun.

What you’ll experience at the table is a balance of collaboration and playful competition. Cultists weave ideas from the deck into outrageous stories, then present their cults with swagger and humor. Recruits listen, probe with questions, and try to figure out which cult fits best for them or which at the table is your true rival — all while keeping the mood light and buzzy. The energy comes from quick shifts in narrative, clever callbacks, and shared laughter as ideas collide and twist in real time.

What’s inside the deck

• 300 cards designed to spark wild, imaginative cult concepts
• 448 signs to flesh out identities, rituals, and mottos
• 132 questions to probe rival cults and tease out potential perks

With these building blocks, you’ll have a versatile toolkit for rapid-fire storytelling. The cards provide prompts, while your creativity fills the rest, turning ordinary gatherings into lively, story-driven play that travels well across living rooms and kitchens alike.

How it’s played

Two roles anchor the game: Cultists who craft and pitch ridiculous cults from the deck, and Recruits who ask targeted questions to understand what each cult offers. The flow is intuitive and fast: draw from the deck, bind ideas into a compelling premise, and deliver a confident pitch while others listen and react. The questions help guide discussion and keep the conversations dynamic, ensuring everyone has a moment to contribute.

Cult Following requires no setup and shines in rounds of about 10 minutes. It’s designed for three or more players and is suitable for ages 14 and up, making it accessible for friends, families, and social gatherings where quick, imaginative play is welcome.
