Coiledspring Schmidt DMS Cockroach Poker English Edition - Bluffing Card Game (2-6 players, 15 min, 8+)

Step into a playful world of deception with Schmidt | DMS Cockroach Poker English Edition from Coiledspring Games. Eight types of creepy critters are illustrated on the cards, inviting players to guess, bluff, and read the room with a wink and a shrug. This compact bluffing game thrives on social interaction and quick thinking, offering a lighthearted challenge for players who enjoy party-style strategy without heavy rules.

Designed for 2 to 6 players and ages 8 and up, Schmidt brings a fast-paced dynamic to family game night or casual gatherings. A typical round clocks in around 15 minutes, making it easy to fit multiple rounds into an evening. The objective isn’t to dominate every hand but to avoid becoming the one who loses by collecting four of a kind or running out of cards first. The tension comes from the little tells, the artful misdirections, and the moment when a held truth is finally revealed or a bluff is called.

How it feels to play

As you pass a card face down and declare what’s on it, you experience a blend of nerves and mischief. The recipient decides whether to accept the declaration or peek at the card and pass it along. The decision to bluff or to tell the truth can shift with each play, turning a simple hand into a social moment where reading your friends matters as much as the cards in play.

If a bluff is exposed or a correct call is made, the card stays visible in front of the deceiver, building toward the four-of-a-kind trap. The flow of cards between players creates a rhythm—skips, passes, and quick reversals—that keeps everyone engaged and watching for tiny tells. The game continues until the losing condition is met, at which point the round ends and the remaining players press on, sharing laughs and friendly competition.
