Drones

This shelf runs from small indoor drones for beginners to folding camera drones for hobbyists. Starter models from SYMA and Holy Stone focus on altitude hold and simple controls, while DJI, Potensic and HOVERAir models add 4K cameras and longer flight times. FPV pilots will also find BETAFPV kits and batteries.

Drones in Canada — frequently asked questions

Do I need to register a drone in Canada?

Transport Canada requires registration and a drone pilot certificate for drones from 250 g up to 25 kg. Micro drones under 250 g do not need either, but safe-flying rules still apply. Check the weight on the listing and Transport Canada's current rules before you fly.

What is a good first drone for a child?

Look for a small model with guarded propellers, altitude hold and one-key takeoff and landing. Spare batteries are worth having, since flight times on small drones are short.
